Iris Tulip Tour - 8 day
Netherlands

It was a wonderful Trip. We rode the bikes evern though it was rainy and windy. It is amazing that you would do in that kind of weather, but we did, dressed warm and we loved it. We also had good weather days, when we saw the tulips and the gardens. It is amazing how many bikes are in the area. The roads are divided into one lane for the cars and a bike lane on each side of the road. Usually we biked on a paved path all the way. It was a great trip!!!!!

This trip had a great staff. Ana went out of her way to prepare food to fit My dietary needs. The ship is going to be repaired better. Out tour guide , first mate and captain was great. A good time was had by all. No one had control of the weather. ( a little cold windy and wet some days). Loved the Tulips! The country side and flower market were real high lights.

We had a group of 16 and had a great time with the other passengers! Fabulous guides & service. The only suggestion we can make would be to have some better swag or bike jerseys/T shirts/Sweatshirts to purchase. They only had a black & White T shirt & a grey sweatshirt, not very feminine either.

Experiencing the unique geography and history of the Netherlands and getting to sample a tange of small towns and then Amsterdam. We also enjoyed the excellent range of art and historical museums and then of course since this was the tulip tour we really appreciated biking by miles of tulip beds and seeing Keukenhof garden, truly a national treasure. Tips for others biking and in April: Bring waterproof cycling gloves, a warm layer, and rain gear. We found the electric bikes were very in dealing with headwinds which of course can be strong by the sea.

The beautiful countryside and the staff of the Magnifique III. The ship was well equipped, comfortable and relaxing, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The tour itself, despite the rain, took us thru some wonderful areas of Tulip fields and farmland. Best tip .. be prepared for all kinds of weather this time of year.

This trip included a fabulously appointed ship with delicious meals, great guides that took us through a comprehensive tour of Holland, and passengers and crew that became like family. I’d do a trip like this again in a heartbeat.

Portugal’s Vicentine Coast & Algarve
Portugal

We had a fantastic trip. Riding along the coast of southern Portugal was absolutely breathtaking. The route was clear and the app and GPS made navigating a breeze. We felt fully supported by Tripsite when two members of our group got sick and needed to take the day off riding. Tripsite made sure we had transportation and checked in to make sure we were satisfied. The route was at times challenging for us, a group of 60+ year olds, but it was enjoyable. Many days the rides were more like mountain biking than street biking. The bikes we were given were more than adequate for the task but there were some rough patches of sand, gravel, steep ups and downs that made the adventure challenging a bit beyond what we had expected. Overall, we absolutely loved the trip and look forward to another Tripsite supported adventure in the future!

Prinzessin Katharina Along the Danube - Passau to Vienna
Austria, Germany

Biking in the Wachau Valley was the most memorable part of the trip.

Suggestions - instructions on bike etiquette and traffic rules in Germany and Austria would have been useful.
There were numerous intersections on the five biking days when it was unclear the direction to take. During the briefing for the next day's ride it would have been helpful to have a powerpoint presentation or some other method of detailing the next day's route.
It would also have been helpful to know that ferries were not included in the cost of the trip. It was also a surprise that renting a bike helmet was 45 euros. It was a surprise that helmets were included in the cost of the trip. Finally, I also was a surprise that WIFI cost $15. All of these things should have been communicated to the riders before the trip.

White Villages of Andalucía
Spain

This is in the top of the bike tours I've taken. We had a party of 8 and the local tour operator worked with us to make it happen (we've done a previous tour with this operator and they are top notch). One issue we have, my wife is short so finding a bike that fits her is a challenge, they came through 100% for us. The operator moves your luggage daily and provides assistance should you need it, they were great. Unless you are a strong biker I recommend an E-bike for this tour so you can concentrate on the many great sites.
The tour takes you to some of the top locations in Andalusia. We were picked up in Málaga and taken by van to Ronda for our first hotel. However, before you go to Málaga for the rendezvous take some time to tour some of the UNESCO sites in Spain, they seem to have more than any other country. Our hotels were wonderful and of Parador quality. You start in Rhonda which is famous for the bridges that span the canyon, the largest Read More

Nelleke’s cooking was super and really memorable.
What was also memorable but far from super was our guide.
Maybe I was spoilt by my 3 previous Tripsite Barge/Bike trips with really excellent guides.
The guide lacked any passion about his job. Many felt we were not looked after properly. Cycled up front and hardly ever looked back if we were behind. Half the party would be delayed at red traffic light and guide just carried on. Sometimes lost him as we could not see where he had turned off. Information always minimal and very sketchy.

Provence - Wilderness of Camargue
France

This was our first experience on a bike and barge tour and it left us looking at more in the future. We enjoyed everything about the trip- the most memorable part? The friendships formed and our absolutely spectacular meals. The crew [Claudia, Lyla, Stephania, and Didi) worked so well together and provided us with memories we will cherish. We opted for E-bikes although we would have been ok without them- it provided a more relaxing pace. The only suggestion I would make is to have the free dinner on your own to be a day other than Sunday. I had planned ahead when first notified and made reservations at a nice place in Avignon but many struggled to find a place open on a Sunday night. Midweek would have been better, possibly in Arles. All in all, it wonderful and everything we hoped it would be.

Tour guides were amazing as well the scenery on the islands , Dubrovnik and Split
Rent the e-bike as the hills on the islands are steep and long unless you just want an extreme work out and not a holiday

Harmonia Highlights of Dalmatia E-Bike & Boat
Croatia

This was an amazing journey. We were well taken care of from the moment we stepped on the boat. All of our guides, Marco, Edi, Bubbi and Filip, were experienced, kind and helpful. They were available and willing to answer any questions. The chefs were incredible. My husband had an issue with his bike and a solution was found immediately. The bike routes took us on beautiful islands, each unique in their challenges and vistas seen. The e-bikes enabled us to ride places we’d have never been able to see. Neither of us had ever ridden an e-bike and we learned quickly.

Segovia’s Medieval Villages
Spain

The medieval towns of Pedraza and Sepúlveda were wonderful. The Duratón River Gorge and Ermita de San Frutos.

It was great to stay for 2 nights in each hotel. Breakfasts were just continental (i.e. no cooked eggs). For a cycling tour it would be nice to have some more protein!

  De Amsterdam South Holland Tour
Netherlands

In spite of rain and hail storms and being drenched most days while biking, it was FANTASTIC. The bike tours/itineraries were great (the app had some glitches but we figured it out). I didn't love the timeline to have to be back by 5 for briefing. I would have enjoyed longer days (aside from when the ship had to sail, that I understand). The other issue, and from what I heard from staff having other complaints as such, is the lack of water, coffee and tea not being available most of the day. If we didn't make it back in time for the afternoon snack, they pulled everything, then there was nothing hot to warm up with (especially being soaking wet), then you had to wait until 4 for the bar to open and then you had to pay for coffee/water. Does not seem unreasonable to have a pot of coffee and hot water readily available all day. Not sure if it's a common occurrence, the the lower decks hallways smelled horribly of sewer. I know they had a plumbing issue the day we boarded, so maybe it was related to that.

The trip was well organized, our boat was comfortable and the food was incredible! The tour took us through quaint little villages and the arranged stops were all informative and enjoyable. My favourite was Grana Parma. We chose self-guided, and enjoyed the flexibility that gave. Sylvie took time each day to explain any potential areas of concern. Overall, a great experience!

The accommodations on the boat and the food were excellent. Everything was so clean, it sparkled. The bikes were especially nice. We want to try to find them in the U.S. so that we can have some of our own.

We were thankful for the kind and helpful staff that went out of their way to make sure that we had a wonderful “holiday.”

Tour was amazing, cycling was the right distance to enjoy each village. Accommodations were basic and quaint. I would recommend purchasing train tickets from Madrid to Segovia ahead of time, we went to the train station the day of travel and there were not many options and the price was 40 euros, not 11.

Danube Bike Path - Passau to Vienna
Germany, Austria

Staying at the Renaissance Raffelsberger Hof was amazing. Hearing about the history of the home turned hotel was interesting. The other memory is of an Austrian band playing in the restaurant at Gasthof zur Traube in Grein. Lastly, the Hotel Widhof left a lot to be desired!! The “sister hotel” Hotel Nibelungenhof looked much nicer and more convenient.
